Lisa Orth
Lisa Orth (http://lisaorth.com) has a rich history within the Seattle music scene, which includes playing guitar and singing in such luminary Seattle bands as 66 Saints, Barbie’s Dream Car (The precursor to 7 Year Bitch), Parini, Models Own (with Sera Cahoone) and most recently Telepathic Liberation Army.
In addition to playing music, Lisa was the first Art Director for Sub Pop Records during their epic “Grunge” years. There she designed countless album covers for bands including Nirvana (who’s famous logo she designed), Mudhoney, and Sonic Youth. During that time she also served as designer for Seattle’s infamous music monthly The Rocket.
In 1990 she started her own record label, Big Flaming Ego records, and released the first recorded works from such local bands as The Gits, Hammerbox, and Common Language. Today, Lisa is an award winning Tattoo Artist and owns her own tattoo shop, Alleged Tattoo on Capitol Hill in Seattle. She continues to make music in various bands; last summer she played drums for Glory Hole, a Hole cover band with members of Tacocat and The Pharmacy. She also DJs under the moniker “Amateur Youth”, and can be found spinning regularly in Seattle at Pony, Re-bar, The Wildrose, and underground queer dance parties.
